In January 2022, I became a member of l’Aixada. It is a food cooperative which is part of Ateneu Rosa de Foc in Gracia.

We were about 10 persons. The 2 hours reunion was entirely in catalan, and from time to time some people would explain me something in castellano when I looked really lost!

The cooperative is organized in four commissions : food buying, logistics, informatics, econo-legal. Each person that join the cooperative has to be part of a commission. I decided to be in the “food buying” commission.

My first order on l’Aixada website. I am trying to do it on time this week as I failed last week because logged in too late on Sunday which is the last possible day each week for Wednesday’s delivery.

Payments

50€ for the stock (refundable when you leave the coop)

30€ to join the cooperative

11€ /month

And a transfert has to be done also in anticipation of what we order each week

<aside> 📌 Next steps Now that I am part of “Consum” commission, I would like to be more in contact with the producers, meet them, go to their farms and see there how I could get involved or find a next intervention!
